The first song on this 3 track demo, 'Losing Ground', starts off very
promisingly. With good riffs, good timimg, good production and obvious musical
talent, you'd think you were listening to a well experienced professional band
rather than the relatively new local Glasgow hardcore band they actually are.
There's an excellent drum bit in the middle of the song that just works really
well, and makes the tune sound impressive rather than just OK.
Track 2, 'Soulcleansed', doesn't have the same instant appeal from the
opening riff (it starts off with a sparse bass/drum bit), but as the song
progresses and moves into more metal territory it starts to feel good again. The
whols song does actually blend quite well, though probably not as good as
'Losing Ground'.
The final track, 'Forced Out', is a sort of 80's thrash / metal /
hardcore mix, with just a hint of Slayer style vocals. In fact this could sound
like a modern Slayer song without too much changing, probably just the tone of
the guitars and to a certain extent the drums would need altered. And of course
the slow bare bass part in the second half would have to go. Anyway I don't know why
I'm going on about Slayer so I'll shut up. Perhaps a bit overly long, but
otherwise an OK song.
I'm not really a hardcore fan, but I do quite like this band. Not only is this a
good demo, but they're also really good live where you can fully appreciate how
good their drummer is. To contact the band or get the demo (£1), write
