Dying Sun is a young looking band from Scotland, more precisely from Glasgow. They started in 1992, when there were only 2 in the band. Now in 1999 they released their second demo CD called nondescript? (the first one was called Prime Ordeal, which was accepted excellent among the reviewers). So let us leave the history behind and focus only on the newest demo CD.

Firstly I was a bit surprised about the length of CD and the shortage of songs (there are only three of them), but OK, let`s face it this is a demo. The songs are: Slagwaste, F.E.A.R. and Half Mast. Their music is a bit similar to all English stoner/doom metal bands, but it is needed to say, that they have also a few very unique elements in their music. Despite some resemblances in their music it sounds incredibly fresh and listenful. Maybe it is not worth of mentioning, but the first time I heard song Slagwaste I thought I was listening to a heavy metal version of Offspring [hehe]. But with time that feeling has vanished and has changed to true, harsh, heavy and unique stoner/rock metal.

I won`t give them a rating, because I think those words are enough: "I'm very anxiously waiting for their forthcoming full album. Keep up the good work boys."
